_Debussy quartet workshops and cultural actions

The Debussy String Quartet realized very early the importance of the relationship with the public and questioned himself about the relevance of the classical music concert forms proposed, especially for children. He is always seeking to adapt forms of concerts and pursuing an educational and fun approach by creating inventive concerts for children. Also driven by a desire for transmission and sharing, the quartet likes to propose different times of exchange around classical music during the season : residences, workshops in partnerships with the Croix-Rousse Theater (in Lyon, France), master classes, educational projects with schools…

_Debussy quartet formation in the Lyon Conservatory

Since 2011, the Debussy String Quartet offers a selected and specialized training about string quartet for two years in collaboration with the Lyon Conservatory. Currently, 3 string quartets are following this formation : the Kodama String Quartet and the Malinconia String Quartet (1rst year), the Bergen String Quartet (2nd year). Those string quartets have, all year long, many professional opportunities as « young talents » concerts, educational projects, cultural action workshops…

_The Summer Academy

Every year,  the « Cordes en Ballade » festival which takes place in Ardeche, proposes a Summer Academy for those who wish to discover or improve in a professional way their practice of string quartet. This is an opportunity to discover other constituted quartets or other musicians and to exchange with Debussy Quartet or artists invited. A restitution concert takes place on the last day of the Academy to allow the academists to perform and show their progress through a musical piece.

_Chamber Music Weekend

In march 2019, the first edition of the Debussy Quartet’s chamber music week-end was held. Born from the desire to share a common passion for chamber music, the weekend was punctuated with concerts, conferences and master classes, open to all. During this weekend, the Debussy String Quartet gave courses to some already constitued young quartets.  A restitution concert were held on the last day of this week-end, open to all, to allow the students to perform in front of an audience. A second edition is already discussed with the desire to create more links between the Lyon 2 University (where the weekend were held) and the Debussy String Quartet.
