A Franco-Iranian singer trained at the Paris Conservatoire, Ariana Vafadari combines her oriental heritage with her passion for classical music. A mezzo-soprano with a deep timbre, she is also a composer, inventing sonic epics that blend traditional, classical, jazz and electronic music, where Zoroastrian wisdom poetically illuminates our contemporary issues. With A song that awakens us, the Quatuor Debussy will be teaming up with this singer, who has moved from the stage to chamber music, for the creation of a new musical program on the borders between the East (Iran) and the West (France). Alongside her career as a classical mezzo-soprano, Ariana Vafadari composes, records and performs on stage in a completely different register. Her records have enabled her to perform on major stages in Europe, Africa and Asia: revelation of the Festival des Musiques Sacrées de Fès, Théâtre de la Ville, Cathedrale de Strasbourg, Festival Indo-Persan (Marseille), Festival de Namur (Belgium), World Spirit Festival in Nagaur and Jodhpur (India), Bombay Beach Biennale in California, YBCA in San Francisco and the Burning Man Festival (Nevada).
