For this concert in a place as unique as it is atypical, the Debussy Quartet is once again associated with the Artmilles Choir, a Saint-Etienne women’s choir directed by Cécile Mathevet-Bouchet.
Starting with a tribute to Eastern Europe with a traditional Ukrainian song, this three-part charity concert mixes genres and aesthetics to make you live an experience where various universes intersect. A dynamic beginning where voices and strings intertwine and follow one another on the creations of Matthieu Burgard, Joseph Haydn or on the songs of Hänsel and Gretel signed Engelbert Humperdinck.
Then relive the Beatles’ most famous songs, reinterpreted and arranged especially for string quartets and gospel songs. This concert is an invitation to discover the sounds that resonate perfectly with the identity of the Collegiate Notre-Dame-d’Espérance.
Finally, the Debussy Quartet suggests to close this evening with the rediscovery of film music, known to the greatest number of us.
A union with a varied repertoire for an eclectic concert is the promise of this musical program.
The entire sum collected will be donated to the restoration of the parish house Saint-Joseph.
