With the desire to explore the Thracians, a civilization that extended from the Balkans and Greece, through Bulgaria, Turkey and Iran, the Debussy Quartet joins forces with Sokratis Sinopoulos on the lyra, a small bowed instrument that dates back to the Byzantine era, with the Chemirani brothers on Iranian percussion instruments, the daf and the zarb. This is a trip to the heart of the Orient and much more than a flashback to the Persian era. Together the musicians embrace a civilization which is open to the world in an evening inspired by many traditions and sounds from the past.
