Since their origins, Les Cordes en ballade and the Debussy String Quartet have been committed to reaching out to all audiences in the Ardèche and the Drôme. In view of the success of the various actions carried out last season in the territory of the Arche Agglo community of Tain l’Hermitage/Tournon, new routes are being built for this year 2022-2023.

This concert is the result of work carried out by the Debussy String Quartet, the Arche Agglo music school and two elementary schools, one in Ardèche and the other in Drôme. It concerns initially the classes of CP, CE1, CE2 and CM1 of the communes of Mercurol-Veaunes and Tournon-sur-Rhône. The objective of these meetings organized throughout the year is to provide new knowledge and musical discoveries to the children by carrying out a whole work around the work “Myla and the tree-boat“, musical tale written and put in music by Isabelle Aboulker. This program includes regular singing sessions in order to discover the work and learn the words and melody. Rhythm, starts, the importance of listening to others and the discovery of the voice are the main axes. A work on body and stage expression was also carried out.

Then, a different course was led with the inter-communal music school and the Tournon-Tain Instrumental Ensemble (EITT) in order to create a large String Orchestra with the young violinists, violists and cellists who are registered at the Arche Agglo music school on the sites of Tain-l’Hermitage and Saint-Donat-sur-l’Herbasse. Volunteers from the EITT are invited to participate so that beginners, amateur musicians and professional musicians can come together in this Orchestra. An individual work of the instrument to discover the pieces will be carried out during the courses given by the teachers of the music school. A pooling will then be the occasion to create an alchemy, to work on the volumes and to favour a cohesion of group during the various rehearsals which will take place with the Debussy String Quartet.

These courses will thus end with this restitution at the Espace Eden of Mercurol, in company of the children and the Debussy String Quartet, for an evening rich in emotions.
